Off-road vehicle manufacturer AGCO will meet Tier IV Final emissions requirements with a mix of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR).
Total fluid economy, a measure of both diesel fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) consumption, will meet or exceed the same consumption levels as AGCO's Tier IV Interim models.
Martin Richenhagen, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of AGCO, said: "Our objective was to develop emissions technologies that delivered a consistent solution for cleaner air, while producing efficient options for farmers through to Tier IV Final. This was our focus when we introduced our e3 SCR technology in 2009 and continues to be our focus as we move to the next generation of emissions reduction."
SCR will be the primary technology, however, cooled EGR will be used in a small number of models to ensure emissions compliance, while minimizing fluid consumption, according to a statement from the company.
