PEAK Automotive, which distributes BlueDEF, has launched a locator application for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, to help its customers find Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). The app shows users retail locations in their vicinity.

On February 7, 2012, BlueDEF manufacturer Old World Industries announced it will sell its chemical businesses to Indorama Ventures of Bangkok, Thailand. The deal includes a manufacturing facility in Clear Lake, TX.

In response to a rapid increase in demand PPC's DEF Solutions division has taken delivery of two 6,500 gallon stainless tankers and has launched a separate Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) division to deliver BlueDEF.

Agrium has signed a deal with Old World Industries to be its exclusive supplier of DEF grade prilled urea for the manufacture of BlueDEF. Agrium expects the North American DEF market to exceed 1.5m tons of urea equivalent (1bn gallons of DEF) by the year 2020.
