Irving Oil opens Canada’s seventh DEF pump

Irving Oil announced this week that its travel plaza in St. Liboire, Quebec, is now equipped to dispense DEF at the fuel island. Irving Oil has become one of just two retailers supplying DEF at the fuel island in Canada. Previously, the only company to provide this was major truck stop chain Pilot Flying J, which operates six stores dispensing DEF at the pump, including one in Quebec.

The St. Liboire location is located at exit 145 of Trans-Canada Highway 20. Combination pumps, located on three diesel fueling lanes, use Gilbarco technology to dispense diesel and DEF simultaneously. The price of DEF at this location is CAD$0.799/litre.

General Manager of Irving Oil Marketing Harry Hadiaris said: "We are excited to offer DEF dispenser access at three of our St. Liboire diesel fuelling lanes," adding that this would "eliminate the hassle" of repositioning the truck or using jugs.

Irving Oil was founded in 1924 and has 900 service stations and travel plazas in New England and eastern Canada. In the U.S., Irving Oil operates Maine's only DEF pump.

Integer Research's DEF Tracker reports the average DEF pump price for Canada at CAD$0.799/litre, or US$3.06/U.S. gallon.
