First DEF Pump for Saskatchewan, Canada

Pilot Flying J has opened the first DEF pump at a fuel island in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The Saskatoon-based location is only the sixth in Canada to supply DEF at the pump. All six are operated by Pilot Flying J. The truckstop brand dominates the North American DEF retail market, with a total of 307 locations.

Pilot Flying J's Canadian truckstops have always charged CAD$0.799/L (equivalent to US$2.99/G) for DEF, and the Saskatchewan location is no exception. As reported by  DEF Tracker, this is more expensive than the U.S. average, which peaked in June 2012, at US$2.81 per gallon.

The newly equipped location has five bulk DEF lanes and is located at 3850 Idylwyld Drive North, Saskatoon, near Highway 12. Previously, truck drivers would have faced a long drive to find DEF at the pump, with the nearest location 385 miles away in Montana.
